충남 아산시의회가 오는 2월 5일 제255회 임시회 제1차 본회의를 개최하고 사임 의사를 밝힌 홍성표 현 의장의 사임안을 처리한다고 밝혔다. 

이날 임시회에서 아산시의회는 현 홍성표 의장에 대한 사임안이 의결될 경우를 가정해 후임 의장 선출도 진행한다는 계획이다.

아산시의회 관계자는 “아산시의회는 의장 보궐선거시 별도의 후보자 등록을 하지 않고 17명 의원 전원이 피선거권과 선거권이 있는 관계로 당일 의장 보궐선거를 실시하게 되면 현장에서 무기명 투표에 의한 의장을 선출하게 된다고 밝혔다.
