26일 오전 1시 50분쯤 충남 아산시 둔포면의 한 플라스틱 제조 공장에서 화재가 발생해 소방당국이 진화 작업을 벌였다.

소방당국은 화재 직후 관할 소방서 전 인력이 출동하는 대응 1단계를 발령하고, 소방대원 180명과 소방차 등 장비 41대를 투입했다. 화재 발생 약 1시간 40분 만인 오전 3시 30분경 큰 불길을 잡았다.

이 화재로 공장 건물 3개 동(6,146㎡)이 모두 전소됐으나, 다행히 인명 피해는 발생하지 않았다. 당시 공장 내 기숙사에 있던 근로자 9명은 신속히 대피해 안전을 확보한 것으로 알려졌다.

아산시는 화재 발생 직후 시민들에게 재난 문자를 발송해 건물 주변 우회와 안전을 당부했다.

소방당국은 현재 잔불 정리 작업을 이어가고 있으며, 화재가 완전히 진화되는 대로 발생 원인과 경위를 조사할 계획이다.
