대전 유성구의 공공도서관 이용자 수가 지난해 153만명을 넘어섰다고 유성구가 밝혔다.

2024년 말 기준으로 8개 공공도서관을 이용한 총 이용자 수는 153만 1211명으로, 이는 전년 대비 25% 증가한 수치이다. 

이는 하루 평균 5289명이 도서관을 이용한 셈이다.

유성구의 통계에 따르면, 통합도서관 서비스인 상호대차(책두레) 서비스는 전년 대비 94% 증가했으며, 장애인을 위한 도서관 자료 무료 우편 서비스인 책나래 서비스는 무려 210% 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 

또한, 도서 예약과 공동 반납 건수도 각각 ,091건, 60385건 증가한 것으로 집계됐다.

이러한 성장은 유성구가 주민들의 도서관 이용 접근성을 높이기 위해 지속적으로 추진해 온 공공도서관 건립 및 노후 도서관 리모델링 사업의 결실로 분석된다. 8개소의 거점별 공공도서관이 주민들에게 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 결과이다.

한편, 유성구는 2025년 2월 용산도서관 개관을 앞두고 있으며, 유성 북크닉(Book+Picnic), 제3회 유성 독서대전, 책 읽어주는 로봇 ‘루카’ 대여 서비스, 찾아가는 시니어 책 친구 ‘유(儒)북(Book)이’ 운영 등 다양한 신규 사업을 펼칠 예정이다.

Yuseong-gu announced that the number of public library users in Daejeon Yuseong-gu exceeded 1.53 million last year.

As of the end of 2024, the total number of users using the eight public libraries was 1,531,211, which is a 25% increase from the previous year.
