대전 서구가 침체된 지역경제에 활력을 불어 넣기위해 행정력을 집중한다는 계획이다.

이를 위해 대전 서구는  432억 원 규모의 20대 재정 투자사업을 상반기에 중점 추진한다고 7일 밝혔다. 

서구는 지속되는 경제 불황 속에서 민생의 어려움을 해소하기 위해 가능한 모든 노력을 다하며, 작은 힘이라도 보태고자 한다. 

서구의 상반기 재정투자사업 중점 추진은 내수를 진작하여 지역 주민들에게 실질적인 경기 부양책이 될 것으로 기대된다.

주요 사업으로는 정림동 일원에 배수펌프장 설치와 우수관거 정비를 위한 정림 재해위험 개선지구 정비사업(35억)과 ,기성동 산사태 복구사업(15억), 용촌동 되창이소하천 정비사업(18억) 등의 안전 방재사업이 포함된다.

주민 생활환경 개선을 위한 사업도 활발히 진행된다. 

이를 위해 샘머리근린공원 관리시설 리모델링(30억) ,가수원근린공원 복합생활관 조성(57억) ,장태산 물빛거닐길 조성(28억) 등을 통해 주민 휴식 공간을 추가할 예정이다. 

특히 장태산 물빛거닐길에는 메타세쿼이아 쉼터, 수변데크, 포토존이 설치된다.

체육 및 복지 인프라도 확충을 위한 사업으로, 괴정동 국민체육센터(55억)는 수영장과 다목적체육관을 갖춘 지하 2층, 지상 3층 규모로 건립되며, 건강체련관 자리에는 수영장, 재활운동실, 헬스장을 포함한 서구 반다비 체육센터(9억)가 들어선다.

마지막으로 도시 기반시설 강화사업도 진행된다. 

해당 사업은 봉곡길 도로확포장공사(25억) ,관저동 서일여고 일원 하수관로 정비공사(16억) ,도마큰시장 제3주차장 지하주차장 조성과 아케이드 보수공사(19억), 근린생활시설과 창업지원시설을 갖춘 도마동 도솔마을 직주락 허브(5억)를 조성할 예정이다.

서철모 청장은 “현재의 경제 위기 속에서 지방정부의 역할은 그 어느 때보다도 중요하다”며 “적기에 밀도 있는 재정 투입은 지역 내수 활성화와 주민 생활 안정에 실질적인 도움이 되기 때문에 모든 사업이 차질 없이 진행될 수 있도록 행정력을 총동원하겠다”고 강조했다.

한편, 총사업비 1조 원 이상 규모의 서구 도마·변동 재개발 촉진지구 재개발사업이 본격적으로 추진됨에 따라 지역 건설경기의 활성화와 함께 서구 경제 전반에 긍정적인 부양 효과를 미칠 것으로 예상된다.
