대전시의회 제1부의장에 김영삼 의원(국민의힘, 서구2)이 당선됐다. 

대전시의회는 6일 제283회 임시회를 열고 제9대 후반기 제1부의장 선출을 위한 투표를 진행한 결과, 김 의원이 최종 선출되었다.

국민의힘 소속인 김영삼, 박종선, 이병철 등 3명의 의원이 출마한 이날 선거에서 21명의 의원이 참여한 1차 투표는 김 의원 9표, 박 의원 5표, 이 의원 6표를 얻으면서 과반 득표자가 없어 1,2위 후보를 대상으로 2차 투표를 진행한 결과 김영삼 의원이 12표를 얻으면서 과반을 넘겨 제1부의장에 당선됐다.

1차 투표에서 1표는 무효 처리됐다. 

제1부의장에 당선된 김영삼 의원은 “어려운 시국과 의회의 분위기 속에서 막중한 자리를 맡게 됐다”며 “협치와 의회 위상이 무엇인지 보여드릴 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 당선소감을 밝혔다.

김 의원은 투표에 앞서 소통과 협치를 강화한 협력 리더십, 의회의 독립과 자율성을 강화하기 위한 예산편성권 및 조직권 확보 등을 위한 노력을 기울이겠다고 정견발표를 했다.

한편 이번 보궐 선거는 지난 10월 고(故) 송대윤 전 대전시의회 부의장의 별세로 공석이 발생하면서 치러졌으며, 제9대 후반기 실질적 원년인 2025년을 맞은 대전시의회는 변화와 혁신, 강력한 의회로 나가기 위한 진용을 갖추게 되었다.

김 의원의 당선은 대전시의회가 앞으로 협치와 소통을 통해 시민의 목소리를 더욱 잘 반영하고, 의회의 위상을 높이는 데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
