최민호 세종시장이 6일 시청에서 언론간담회를 열고 지난 2024년도 성과와 함께 2025년도 비전을 제시했다.

먼저 최 시장은 지난 2024년 세종시는 시민들의 적극적인 참여를 바탕으로 대중교통 혁신과 같은 여러 혁신적 변화를 이루어내며 주목할 만한 성과를 거두었다고 평가했다.

최 시장은 특히, 대중교통 대혁신과 살기 좋은 도시 1위라는 평가, 그리고 출생률 회복은 세종시의 자랑스러운 성과로 손꼽힌다고 말하고, 이외에도 투자유치 실적 2조 3천억원 돌파, 한글문화도시 지정, 공동캠퍼스 개교, 법원설치법 통과 등 다양한 성과들이 시민과 언론인들의 협력 덕분에 이루어졌음을 강조하며 감사의 뜻을 전했다.

이어 최 시장은 2025년의 주요 목표와 비전을 제시했다.

최 시장은 2025년에는 세종시의 5대 비전 실현에 집중하겠다는 의지를 밝혔다. 

5대 비전은 행정수도로서의 확고한 입지, 한글문화수도로서의 역할, 박물관도시, 정원관광도, 그리고 혁신산업도시라는 목표를 포함하고 있다. 

특히, 정치적 어려움과 저출생, 지역소멸 문제를 해결하기 위해 기본에 충실하고 본립도생(본이 서면 길이 열린다)의 정신을 바탕으로 추진하겠다고 강조했다.

최 시장은 또 , "세종사랑 운동"을 제안하며 시민들이 중심이 되어 세종시의 자부심을 높이고 도시 가치를 증대시키는 일에 참여할 것을 요청했다. 

세종사랑 운동은 세종시 발전의 원동력이 될 것이며, 시민들의 적극적인 참여를 기대하고 있다.

2025년 주요 업무계획과 관련해 최 시장은 세종시는 2025년을 맞이하여 도시 가치 향상, 활력 넘치는 지역경제, 문화관광 도시, 시민이 안전하고 편리한 도시, 살기 좋은 도시 등 주요 업무계획을 수립했다고 밝혔다.

먼저 '도시 가치 향상'을 위해 법원설치법 개정안 통과와 행정수도 완성을 위한 법적·행정적 노력 강화, 공공기관 유치와 공공마이스 산업 발전을 위한 제2컨벤션 센터 및 다양한 행사 유치, 친환경 도시와 탄소중립 목표 실현, 스마트시티 인증과 관련한 선도적 역할 지속 한다는 계획이다.

이어 '활력 넘치는 지역경제'를 위해서는 투자유치 활동 확대와 3조원 투자유치 목표 달성, 상가공실 문제 해결과 소상공인종합지원센터 설립을 통한 서민경제 지원 강화, 혁신산업 기반 조성을 위한 사이버보안과 양자 분야 지원에 나서고, '문화관광 도시'를 위해서는 한글문화도시로서 한글을 중심으로 한 글로벌 문화 확산, 박물관도시로 발전하기 위한 시설 확충 및 국제 박물관과의 협력 강화, 축제와 문화 행사를 통한 세종시 브랜드 가치 상승을 추진하다는 계획이다.

또한 '시민이 안전하고 편리한 도시' 조성을 위해 대중교통 혁신을 통한 교통 편의성 향상, 광역교통망 확장과 안전한 도시를 위한 지속적인 개선,  응급의료기관 지원과 지역 안전 역량 강화를 위한 계획 수립하고, '살기 좋은 도시' 조성을 위해서는 저출생 극복과 공공보육 체계 강화를 위한 지속적인 노력, 대학과 연구소의 연계를 통한 지역 인재 양성, 촘촘한 복지안전망을 통한 시민의 생활 향상에 나선다.

최민호 시장은 세종시는 2025년을 맞이하여 시민들과 함께 발전적인 방향으로 나아가며, '세종사랑 운동'을 중심으로 한 지속 가능한 발전을 이루기 위한 계획을 확립했다고 밝혔다.
