국민의힘 대전광역시당은 2일 오전, 국립대전현충원을 찾아 나라를 위해 헌신하신 순국선열과 호국영령에 대한 묵념과 헌화를 진행하며 2025년 당무를 시작했다.

이상민 시당위원장과 이은권, 조수연, 박경호 당협위원장을 비롯한 당 소속 기초단체장 및 광역·기초의원, 시당 주요 당직자 100여 명이 참석한 가운데, 현충원에 안치된 호국영령들께 참배하며 새해를 맞아 엄숙한 분위기 속에서 진행된 이번 참배는 지난 한 해를 되돌아보며, 새로운 결의로 국가와 시민에게 보답하겠다는 다짐을 되새기는 자리였다.

이상민 위원장은 참배 후 방명록에 “국민의 평안과 나라의 번영을 위하여 국민의힘이 앞장서겠습니다.”라고 작성하며, 순국선열의 호국 정신을 다시 한번 되새겼다.

참배를 마친 후, 대전시청에 마련된 '제주항공 여객기 참사' 합동분향소를 찾아 희생자를 애도했다. 이날 추도식에서는 안타까운 사고의 슬픔을 함께 나누고, 이러한 비극이 재발되지 않도록 안전대책과 제도적 보완을 강조하며 유가족들에게 깊은 위로의 뜻을 전했다.

이 위원장은 “조국을 위해 헌신한 분들의 숭고한 정신과, 안타까운 사고로 유명을 달리한 분들의 넋을 함께 기리기 위해 이 자리에 함께 모였다”며, “희생과 아픔을 마음 깊이 새기며, 새로운 한 해를 맞아 국민과 나라를 위해 온 힘을 기울이겠다”고 전했다.
