대전 서구가 저출산 문제 해결과 출산 가정을 지원하기 위해 2025년 1월부터 전국 최초로 다자녀 가구를 대상으로 재산세 50% 감면을 시행한다고 밝혔다. 

이번 정책은 민선8기 공약인 ‘아이 낳고 키우기 좋은 서구’를 실현하기 위한 노력의 일환으로, 행정안전부의 승인과 한국지방세연구원의 자문을 거쳐 마련됐다.

감면 대상은 과세기준일인 6월 1일 현재 대전 서구에 주민등록이 되어 있으며, 2025년 1월 1일 이후 한 명 이상의 자녀를 출산하여 2자녀 이상의 다자녀 가구가 된 부모로, 공시가격 9억 원 이하의 1세대 1주택을 소유한 가구이다. 

이 경우 도시지역분을 포함한 재산세 50%가 감면되며, 감면 대상자는 별도의 신청 절차 없이 자동으로 감면 혜택을 받을 수 있다.

서철모 청장은 “출산을 고민하는 청년 가정의 부담을 실질적으로 덜어줄 제도를 마련하게 되어 매우 기쁘다”라며, “이번 정책이 저출산 문제 해결의 중요한 첫걸음이 될 것으로 기대하며, 앞으로도 아이 낳고 키우기 좋은 서구를 만들기 위해 다양한 지원책을 지속해서 펼쳐 나가겠다”라고 말했다.
