2027 충청권 하계세계대학경기대회 조직위원회(이하 조직위)는 선수촌 조성 일정 단축을 위한 업무협약에 따라 우선 시공이 가능한 현장사무실, 가설울타리 및 현장출입문 등의 가설공사를 조기 착공했다고 31일 밝혔다.

지난 11월, 조직위는 세종 5-1 L5블록 공공주택의 선수촌 조성 일정 단축을 목표로 한국토지주택공사(LH) 및 계룡건설산업(시공사)과 협약을 체결하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 LH와 계룡건설과 협업하여 선수촌 조성에 차질이 없도록 추진할 예정이다.

세종 5-1 L5블록은 6000여 명을 수용할 수 있는 1327세대 규모의 공동주택으로, 모듈러주택, 제로에너지, 스마트 커뮤니티 등이 반영된 스마트 주거단지로 조성된다.

이번 조기 착공으로 그동안 2027 충청 세계U대회의 선수촌 공사 지연에 대한 우려는 가라앉을 것으로 예상된다.

2027 충청 세계U대회는 전 세계 대학생들이 모여 펼치는 국제 메가 스포츠 이벤트로, 2027년 8월 1일부터 12일까지 대전, 세종, 충북, 충남 4개 시도 일원에서 개최된다. 

이번 대회에는 150여 개국에서 1만 5000여 명이 참가하며, 총 18개 종목으로 진행될 예정이다.
