충남도가 태안에서 경기도 안성을 연결하는 국내 최장 민자 고속도로 건설 사업을 본격 추진한다고 19일 밝혔다. 

이 고속도로는 태안, 서산, 예산, 당진, 아산, 천안, 안성 등 7개 시군을 연결하며 총 길이는 94.6㎞에 달한다.

이번 고속도로 건설은 태안 지역의 교통망을 획기적으로 개선하고, 충남 서해안과 내륙, 수도권 간의 접근성을 크게 향상시킬 것으로 기대된다. 

앞서 충남도는 DL이앤씨와 하나은행이 제안한 민간투자사업 제안서를 최근 국토교통부에 제출했다. 

예상 사업비는 약 3조 원으로, 고속도로가 완공되면 현재 국내에서 가장 긴 민자 고속도로인 서부내륙고속도로 1단계(94㎞)를 초과하여 국내 최장 타이틀을 차지하게 된다.

태안-안성 고속도로는 서해안과 서산-영덕, 서부내륙, 당진-천안, 경부, 평택-제천 등 6개 고속도로를 연결하여 도내 및 수도권과의 접근성을 크게 높일 예정이다. 

이 고속도로는 민선 8기 힘쎈충남의 1호 과제로, 베이밸리의 순환고속도로 역할도 수행할 것으로 보인다.

또한, 태안기업도시, 2028년 개항 예정인 서산공항, 충남혁신도시 내포신도시, 천안미래모빌리티 국가산업단지 등 도내 주요 거점과 인접해 산업 간 시너지 효과를 증대시키고 지역 균형 발전을 이끌 것으로 기대된다. 

충남도는 이 고속도로가 수도권에서 태안으로의 이동 시간을 크게 단축시키고, 서해안 관광 활성화에도 기여할 것으로 보고 있다.

충남도는 태안-서산고속도로와 내포-천안고속도로 연결 추진을 통해 민자 유치 노력을 강화해왔으며, 2021년 제2차 국가도로망종합계획에 태안축을 반영하여 당위성을 확보했다. 

지난해에는 제3차 고속도로 건설 계획에 태안-서산고속도로 반영을 건의하고, 내포-천안고속도로도 민자로 추진하기 위한 사전 타당성 조사 용역을 완료한 바 있다.

Chungnam Province to Push for Construction of Korea's Longest Private Expressway from Taean to Anseong

Chungnam Province announced on the 19th that it will push forward with the construction of Korea's longest private expressway connecting Taean and Anseong in Gyeonggi Province.

This expressway connects seven cities and counties, including Taean, Seosan, Yesan, Dangjin, Asan, Cheonan, and Anseong, and has a total length of 94.6 km.

The Taean-Anseong Expressway will connect six expressways, including the West Coast, Seosan-Yeongdeok, Western Inland, Dangjin-Cheonan, Gyeongbu, and Pyeongtaek-Jecheon, greatly increasing accessibility to the province and the metropolitan area.

This expressway is the first task of the 8th local government, Strong Chungnam, and is expected to serve as a circular expressway for Bay Valley.

In addition, it is expected to increase synergy effects between industries and lead to balanced regional development by being adjacent to major hubs in the province, such as Taean Enterprise City, Seosan Airport scheduled to open in 2028, Chungnam Innovation City Naepo New Town, and Cheonan Future Mobility National Industrial Complex.

Chungnam Province believes that this expressway will significantly shorten the travel time from the metropolitan area to Taean and contribute to revitalizing tourism on the West Coast.

Chungnam Province has been strengthening its efforts to attract private investment by promoting the connection of the Taean-Seosan Expressway and the Naepo-Cheonan Expressway, and secured legitimacy by reflecting the Taean axis in the 2nd National Road Network Comprehensive Plan in 2021.

Last year, it suggested reflecting the Taean-Seosan Expressway in the 3rd Expressway Construction Plan, and completed a preliminary feasibility study to promote the Naepo-Cheonan Expressway with private investment.
