대전시는 16일 양자컴퓨팅 전문 기업 노르마 및 나노종합기술원과 양자컴퓨팅 기술 개발 및 상용화를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다. 

이번 협약은 양자컴퓨팅 기술에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있는 가운데, 대전이 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 양자컴퓨팅 생태계를 구축하기 위한 협력 기반을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.

이번 업무협약을 통해 노르마는 양자컴퓨터 제조시설을 설립하고 운영하며 사업화 프로세스를 추진할 예정이다. 

나노종합기술원은 QPU(큐비트 프로세싱 유닛) 제조 공정과 성능 평가 기술을 개발하여 양자컴퓨팅 연구와 산업화를 위한 핵심 기술 기반을 제공할 계획이다. 

대전시는 연구개발 성과의 사업화 추진 및 노르마의 신규 투자를 위한 제반 사항을 적극 지원할 예정이다.

노르마는 양자 컴퓨터 전문 기업으로 하드웨어와 소프트웨어 전 범위 기술을 지원하며, 국내 양자 기업 중 유일하게 해외 투자를 유치하고 사우디아라비아로의 수출을 달성해 주목받고 있다. 

나노종합기술원은 양자 공정 전문기관으로, 양자 소자의 제조와 테스트를 위한 최첨단 장비와 기술을 보유하고 있으며, 양자컴퓨팅, 양자통신, 양자센싱 등 다양한 양자 기술 분야의 연구개발을 적극 지원하고 있다.

한선희 대전시 미래전략산업실장은 “국내에서 처음으로 상업용 양자컴퓨터를 개발한 기업인 노르마와 협력관계를 맺게 된 것을 뜻깊게 생각한다”며, “이번 협약은 경쟁력을 갖춘 지역 양자컴퓨팅 생태계 육성에 중요한 디딤돌이 될 것이다. 세 기관이 각자의 강점을 결합해 시너지를 낼 수 있도록 관심과 노력을 기울이겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 대전시는 올해 개방형 양자팹, 양자컴퓨팅 양자전환 스케일업 밸리 육성사업 등 양자컴퓨팅 관련 주요 정부사업 유치를 통해 양자산업 허브로서의 입지를 강화하고 있다.

On the 16th, Daejeon City signed a business agreement with quantum computing specialist Norma and Nano Comprehensive Technology Institute for the development and commercialization of quantum computing technology.

Han Seon-hee, the head of the Daejeon City Future Strategy Industry Office, said, “It is meaningful to have established a partnership with Norma, the first company in Korea to develop a commercial quantum computer,” and added, “This agreement will be an important stepping stone for fostering a competitive local quantum computing ecosystem. We will pay attention and make efforts so that the three organizations can combine their respective strengths to create synergy.”

Meanwhile, Daejeon City is strengthening its position as a quantum industry hub by attracting major government projects related to quantum computing, such as the Open Quantum Fab and the Quantum Computing Quantum Conversion Scale-up Valley Promotion Project this year.
