대전시는 13일 저출산고령사회위원회(부위원장 주형환)와 지역 경제계와 함께 저출생 및 지역소멸 위기 대응 해법을 마련하기 위한 '지역소멸 대응 포럼'을 개최했다.

이번 포럼은 충청권 지자체, 대한상공회의소, 저출산고령사회위원회가 공동 주최하여, 지자체와 기업의 저출생 대응 우수 사례를 공유하고, 지역별 인구, 경제, 산업 현황 분석 및 전망을 바탕으로 지역소멸 극복의 구체적 실행 방안을 발굴하기 위해 마련되었다.

포럼에는 유득원 대전시 행정부시장을 비롯해 저출산고령사회위원회 주형환 부위원장, 대전 지역상공회의소 회장단, 지역기업 대표, 지역 전문가 등 총 30여 명이 참석했다.

이날 포럼에서는 대전, 충북, 충남에서 시행하는 저출생 대응 정책과 지역기업의 일·가정 양립 우수 사례 발표가 이어졌으며, 지역 맞춤 해법에 대한 전문가 발제와 지역소멸 극복 및 지역 발전 방향에 대한 열띤 토론이 펼쳐졌다.

대전시는 주요 저출생 대응 정책으로 만남, 결혼, 임신, 출산, 육아, 주거 등 생애 주기별 지원 사업을 소개하며, 대전형 좋은 일터 조성사업 ,청년 만남 지원 사업 ,청년부부 결혼 장려금 지원 ,대전형 양육 기본수당 ,청년 주택 3천 호 공급 등 저출생 및 지방소멸 위기 극복을 위한 중점 사업을 발표했다.

유득원 대전시 행정부시장은 “저출생과 지방소멸은 수도권보다 잘 사는 지방 도시가 나와야 극복할 수 있다”며, “만남, 결혼, 출산, 돌봄 전 주기별로 연계되는 정책 지원을 통해 미래 세대들이 직장을 잡고 정착하여 아이를 낳고 살아갈 수 있는 ‘일류 경제도시 대전’을 만드는 데 지역 경제계와 함께 앞장서겠다”고 밝혔다.

이번 포럼은 지역소멸 문제 해결을 위한 다양한 의견과 아이디어를 나누는 중요한 자리로, 대전시와 지역 경제계의 협력이 더욱 강화될 것으로 기대된다.
