충남 보령시가 13일 농어촌지역의 보령댐 광역상수도 공급망인 '미산 농어촌 지방상수도 시설'을 완공했다고 밝혔다.

2021년 3월부터 이뤄진 이번 공사는 '급·배수관로 84.5㎞, 가압장 2개소, 유량계실 1개소, 소화전 21개소' 등을 단계적으로 구축하는 사업으로 국비 7억 원, 도비 155억 원 등 총 190억 원의 사업비가 투입됐다. 

시에 따르면 상수도 시설 공사 완료로 미산면 도화담리 등 14개 리 975세대, 1,950여 명의 주민이 혜택을 받을 전망이다. 

수돗물 공급을 원하는 주민들은 오는 2025년 3월부터 개인 급수공사 시행승인 신청서를 시청 수도과에 제출하면 된다.

한편, 시는 미산면 급수구역의 안정적인 수돗물 공급을 위해 내년 미산배수지(500㎥/일)를 착공해 2026년 준공할 계획이다. 

김동일 시장은 “보령댐 상류에 위치한 미산면은 댐 주변에 거주하면서 각종 규제를 받고, 정작 지방상수도를 공급받지 못해 그간 소외됐으나 이번 사업준공으로 안정적인 용수 공급체계가 완성돼 물 걱정이 사라졌다”며 “앞으로도 소외받는 주민들이 없도록 지속적으로 상수도시설을 관리하고 발전시켜 나가겠다”고 말했다.
