한남대학교가 최근 물가 폭등으로 경제적 어려움을 겪고 있는 라오스의 창업생태계 지원에 나섰다.

한남대 신윤식교수(경영정보), 최장우교수(무역물류)를 비롯해 양현봉 원장(세종테크노파크) 등은 지난 4일부터 세종시·세종테크노파크와 함께 라오스 현지를 방문해 라오스 루앙프라방 주정부, 상공회의소, 수파노봉대학교와 함께 국제 세미나를 개최했다.

이번 세미나를 통해 라오스 창업 생태계 지원을 위한 다각적인 방안을 모색하는 한편, 라오스의 주력 업종과 경쟁력 업종 등을 분석하고 창업역량 강화를 위한 멘토링과 인턴십, 현지교육 컨설팅 등을 위한 논의를 진행했다.

아시아개발은행(ADB)에 따르면 라오스의 지난해 소비자물가 상승률은 31%에 달했으며 올해도 25% 이상 고공행진 할 것으로 전망되고 있는 등 경제적 타격이 심각한 상태다.

한남대는 세종시와 공동으로 라오스 경제자립 및 소기업(SOHO) 활성화를 통한 창업지원 공공 협력사업을 코이카의 지원으로 수행 중이다.

한남대는 라오스 맞춤형 창업로드맵수립, 청년창업인턴제, 창업멘토링 등을 지원하고 국립 수파노봉대학교에 창업지원센터 건립을 추진 중이다. 이를 통해 청년창업가를 양성해 라오스 소기업 확대를 모색하고 IT·농업·보건분야 기능 인력을 발굴해 한국의 산업 및 사회 취약분야에서 부족한 숙련 근로자를 공급할 수 있도록 지원할 예정이다.

신윤식 교수는 “라오스 경제의 중국 의존도가 커지고 있는 상황에서 한국과의 우호 증진에 기여하고 라오스의 경제자립 지원에 대학과 지자체 그리고 지역혁신기관이 손을 잡고 나서는데 큰 의미가 있다”고 말했다.

Hannam University is supporting the establishment of a customized startup roadmap for Laos, a youth startup internship system, and startup mentoring, and is promoting the establishment of a startup support center at the National Souphanobong University. Through this, it plans to foster young entrepreneurs and seek to expand small businesses in Laos, and to discover skilled workers in the IT, agriculture, and health fields to supply skilled workers who are lacking in Korea’s industrial and socially vulnerable sectors.
