공주시(시장 최원철)가 9일 농림축산식품부 주최 '2023년 전국 농업기계 임대사업 종합평가'에서 '농촌진흥청장 표창'을 수상했다.

농림축산식품부가 매년 진행하는 농업기계 임대사업 종합평가는 전국 147개 시군의 농업기계 임대사업소를 대상으로 진행되며, 올해는 총 21개 세부 지표를 바탕으로 지난 1년간의 성과를 종합적으로 평가했다.

7년 연속 ‘우수 운영기관’에 선정된 시는 밭농업기계 농기계 비율, 농기계 대당 임대일수 등 전반적인 항목에서 우수한 성과를 인정받아 종합 평가 결과 ‘매우 우수’ 등급을 받았다.

시는 2009년부터 농업기술센터 내 농업기계 임대사업소를 운영하고 있으며, 남부상담소와 북부상담소를 추가 설치해 농업인들이 적기에 필요한 농기계를 사용할 수 있도록 권역별로 적극적인 지원을 아끼지 않고 있다.
