대전맹학교(교장 문성준)는 초등학교 3학년에 재학 중인 김민아 학생이 '2025년 제17회 TJB 전국 장애학생 음악 콩쿠르 시상식'에서 판소리 부문 대상 수상의 영예를 안았다고 5일 밝혔다.

김민아 학생은 2022년 대전맹학교 초등학교 과정에 입학한 후, 다양한 음악 활동을 통해 재능을 키워왔다. 2년전 바이올린을 배우기 시작하면서 부터 '음악'이라는 세계를 접하게 된 김 군은 학교 방과후 수업을 통해 플룻과 드럼을 익히며 예술인으로서의 꿈을 키워왔다. 

올해 3월, 담임 선생님(교사 박준석)의 추천으로 판소리에 관심을 갖게 된 김민아 학생은 공주시에서 운영하는 평생학습 특성화 프로그램 ‘판소리 더하기 고법’ 수업에 참여하면서 본격적으로 판소리를 배우기 시작했다. 이후 7월에는 박동진 판소리 전수관의 고한돌 선생님에게 개인 지도를 받으며 실력을 더욱 발전시켰다.

김민아 학생은 판소리를 시작한 지 불과 2달 만인 지난 9월, TJB 대전방송 주관 음악 콩쿠르에 첫 출전했으며, 지난달 17일 심사위원 전원 만장일치로 최연소 대상(교육부 장관상) 수상이 결정됐다. 

특히, 김민아 학생의 이번 수상은 장애학생들도 문화예술 분야에서 자신감을 가지고 도전할 수 있다는 희망과 영감을 주는 사례로 평가받고 있다.

문성준 교장은 “김민아 학생은 다양한 음악 활동과 선생님들의 관심 속에서 자신의 재능을 발견하고 키워왔다”며 “앞으로도 꾸준히 노력하여 더욱 큰 꿈을 이룰 수 있기를 기대한다”고 전했다.
