충청남도가 2일 ‘공주 마곡사 대광보전 굴피자리’와 ‘부여 무량사 묘법연화경’ 등 두 건을 충청남도 문화유산으로 신규 지정했다고 밝혔다.

‘굴피자리’는 참나무의 두꺼운 껍질인 굴피를 가는 올로 쪼개어 엮은 자리로, 주로 함경북도 지역에서 제작된 것으로 알려져 있다. 공주 마곡사 대광보전 굴피자리는 대광보전을 중수한 1782년경에 제작된 것으로 추정되며, 역사성과 학술 가치가 매우 높아 충청남도 민속문화유산으로 지정되었다.

충남도는 앞으로 마곡사 대광보전 굴피자리에 대한 보존 처리 및 정밀 조사를 진행한 후, 유산의 가치를 입증하여 국가유산으로 승격할 계획이다.

또한, 부여 무량사 묘법연화경은 1493년에 간행된 불서로, 7권 3책이 온전히 전해지고 있어 완전성이 높다. 이는 조선 전기 불서 간행과 목판 인쇄 문화를 엿볼 수 있는 중요한 역사적 자료로 평가받아 충청남도 유형문화유산으로 지정되었다.

충남도는 이외에도 천안 각원사 소조보살좌상, 백자청화 이기하 지석, 류명 청난원종공신녹권을 대상으로 충청남도 문화유산 지정 예고를 하였으며, 예고 기간 내에 접수된 의견을 종합하여 차기 도 문화유산위원회 심의를 거쳐 최종 지정 여부를 결정할 예정이다.
