한국예총대전광역시연합회(회장 성낙원, 이하 대전예총)는 2024년 ‘제2회 자랑스러운 대전예술인대상’ 수상자로 서양화가 정장직을 선정했다고 25일 밝혀싸.

자랑스러운 대전예술인대상은 예술 분야에서 청렴하고 존경받는 바람직한 예술인상(藝術人像)을 정립하는데 귀감이 되고 지역 예술발전에 공헌한 공로자를 찾아 그의 헌신적인 삶을 널리 알리고, 또한 정의롭고 행복한 사회를 구현하는데 기여하고자 대전예총에서 마련한 상이다. 

수상자 선정은 지난 10월 16일부터 1개월간 네이버폼에서 수상 후보자를 추천받아 심사위원회에서 결정했다. 

특히 이 상은 시민과 예술인 누구나 추천해 수상자를 선정한다는 점에서 더 뜻깊다.

올해 수상자로 선정된 정장직은 서양화가로 우송대학교에서 재직하며 후진 양성을 하였고, 문화원을 중심으로 목판화를 보급하는데 열정을 보여줬다. 

또한, 30년 이상을 공주와 대전을 중심으로 자연 미술을 연구하는 모임에 주축이 되어 진취적으로 예술작업을 이끌어왔다. 학연과 지연에 얽매이지 않고 후배예술인과 교류하고 격려함으로써 대전예술의 활성화에 큰 영향을 주어, 지역예술 발전에 공헌이 크고. 예술인들의 귀감이 되어 수상자로 선정되었다.

시상식은 오는 12월 4일 오후 4시 한남대학교 56주년 기념관 1층 서의필홀에서 개최하는 2024 대전예술인대회장에서 시상한다.  

지난해 제1회 자랑스러운 대전예술인상 수상자는 김완하 시와 정신아카데미 대표가 후학 양성, 문학 저변 확대, 대전문학 발전에 기여, 장애인 등 소외된 곳에 대한 문학 활동 기여, 한국문학의 해외 진출 노력, 왕성한 창작 활동 등 대전예술문화 발전을 위해 헌신과 노력에 인정을 받아 수상한 바 있다.

Daejeon Art Association selects Western painter Jeong Jang-jik as the winner of the ‘Proud Daejeon Artist Award’

The Daejeon Metropolitan City Federation of the Korean Art Association (Chairman Seong Nak-won, hereinafter referred to as Daejeon Art Association) announced on the 25th that it has selected Western painter Jeong Jang-jik as the winner of the ‘2nd Proud Daejeon Artist Award’ in 2024.

The Proud Daejeon Artist Award is an award created by the Daejeon Art Association to establish a desirable image of an artist who is honest and respected in the field of art, to find a person who has contributed to the development of local arts, to widely publicize his or her dedicated life, and to contribute to the realization of a just and happy society.

The selection of the winner was decided by the judging committee after receiving recommendations for award candidates on Naver Form for one month starting on October 16.

This award is especially meaningful in that anyone, whether a citizen or an artist, can recommend a winner.

The winner of this year's award, Jeong Jang-jik, is a Western painter who worked at Woosong University and nurtured young artists. He also showed his passion for popularizing woodblock prints centered around the Cultural Center.

In addition, he has been a key figure in a group that studies natural art centered around Gongju and Daejeon for over 30 years and has been proactively leading artistic work. He has greatly contributed to the development of local art by interacting with and encouraging junior artists without being bound by school ties or regional ties, and has been selected as the winner for being a role model for artists.

The awards ceremony will be held at the 2024 Daejeon Artists' Convention Hall, Seo-ui-pil Hall on the first floor of the 56th Anniversary Memorial Hall of Hannam University at 4 p.m. on December 4.

Last year, the first winner of the Proud Daejeon Artist Award was Kim Wan-ha, the head of the Poetry and Spirit Academy, who was recognized for his dedication and efforts to the development of Daejeon arts and culture, including nurturing future generations, expanding the literary base, contributing to the development of Daejeon literature, contributing to literary activities for the underprivileged, including the disabled, efforts to advance Korean literature overseas, and active creative activities.
