세종시가 깨끗하고 안전한 도시환경 조성을 위해 현수막 청정지역 1곳을 추가 지정·운영한다고 15일 밝혔다.

현수막 청정지역은 교통량이 많은 주요 교차로 등에 무분별하게 설치되는 불법 현수막을 집중관리 하기 위해 설정된 구역이다.

이번에 추가 지정된 곳은 금남교 숲바람수변공원부터 세종남부경찰서 교차로까지 시청대로 2㎞ 구간이다.

시는 2020년부터 불법 현수막 상습 게시 구역인 나성동 다이소 앞 사거리 ,대평동 고속시외버스터미널 인근 ,성금교차로 ,너비뜰교차로 ,번암사거리 등 5곳을 현수막 청정지역으로 지정·관리해 왔다.

하지만 학교, 선거관리위원회, 집회·시위자, 정당의 정책 홍보성 광고물 등은 적법한 광고물로 분류돼 청정지역 운영에 한계가 있었다.

이에 따라 시는 각 정당·공공기관 등에도 청정지역 내 현수막 게시 최소화에 협조해 줄 것을 적극적으로 안내한다는 계획이다.

Sejong City urges public institutions and political parties to minimize banner postings
