충남 서산시가 운영하는 ‘밤새안녕 모바일 안심 서비스’가 소중한 생명을 살리는 역할을 하고 있다.

‘밤새안녕 모바일 안심 서비스’가 위급상황에 처한 시민을 구조하고 고독사를 방지하는 생명지킴이 역할을 톡톡히 하고 있다는 평가다.

서산시에 따르면 지난 15일 해미면에 근무하는 두 직원이 밤새안녕 서비스 알림을 통해 방문한 주택에서 주인 허 씨가 쓰러져 있는 것을 발견하고 119에 신고하는 등 신속히 대처했다고 밝혔다.

허 씨는 현재 병원에서 회복 중이다.

서산시에 따르면 응급실 관계자는 “행정복지센터 직원이 응급실까지 찾아오는 경우는 처음”이라며 “연고가 없는 분들이 응급실로 오면 병원 업무를 처리하기가 어려운데, 덕분에 발 빠르게 해결할 수 있었다”고 말했다고 전했다.

밤새안녕 모바일 안심 서비스는 1인 가구의 고독사가 사회적 문제로 대두됨에 따라 2021년 추진된 사업으로 대상자의 스마트폰, 유선전화 통신사와 연계해 통화기록을 자동 점검한다.

자동 점검 결과 일정 기간 통신기록이 없거나, 자동안부 전화에 답변이 없는 경우 거주지 관할 읍면동 행정복지센터에 정보가 수신돼 직원이 직접 방문한다.

대상자는 50세부터 64세까지의 중장년층, 극단적 선택 시도자 등 고독사 위험에 노출된 1인 가구로, 현재 800 가구가 해당 서비스를 이용하고 있다.
