지난 6월8일 첫 개장을 한 태안군 5일장이 태안군민들과 관광객들에게 인기다.

8일 개장 후 오늘이 3회째로 태안군 추산 6500 여명이 5일장터 와 동부시장, 서부시장을 찾았다고 말했다.

태안군 관계자의 말에 따르면 5일장 사업을 하게 된 계기는 지역 재래시장의 상권이 점점 사라지는 지금 추세에 새로운 볼거리. 먹거리를 재래시장과 연계하면 재래시장 활성화에 도움이 될 것이라는 시장 상인회의 의견을 수렴하여 개장하게 되었다고 답변했다. 

태안군 5일장터는 태안군 걷고 싶은 거리에서 매월 3, 8, 13, 18, 23, 28일 운영되며, 오전 10시부터 오후 5시까지 운영된다.
