충남도의회 ‘미래주도형 적정규모학교 육성 방안 연구모임’이 7일 충남도의회에서 제2차 회의를 개최하고, 교육환경 개선을 위한 기금 운용 방안에 대한 논의를 가졌다.

이날 2차 회의를 개최한 연구모임은 박미옥 의원(비례·국민의힘)을 포함하여 고광철 의원(공주1·국민의힘), 이범수 공주시의원, 교사, 공무원, 학부모 등 14명으로 구성돼 있다.

이날 회의에서는 ‘충청남도교육청 적정규모학교 육성 및 기금 설치 및 운용에 관한 조례 일부개정조례안’에 대한 내용을 검토하고 다양한 의견을 제시하며 열띤 토론이 이루어졌다.

연구모임 대표를 맞고 있는 박미옥 의원은 “합리적 기금 운용으로 학생들에게 더 나은 교육환경을 제공하고, 학생 수가 급격히 감소한 지역의 학교들을 통합하거나 재편성하여 적정 규모의 학교로 만들어 보다 풍부한 교육 경험을 쌓을 수 있도록 학교 시설을 개선하고, 학교가 지역 사회의 활력을 높이는 데 기여할 수 있을 것”이라며 “참석하신 모든 회원님들이 열린 마음으로 의견을 나누고 협력하여 미래의 학교를 함께 만들어 가자”고 말했다.
