정명국 대전시의원(국민의힘, 동구3)이 대표발의 한 ‘대전광역시 정책 관리 조례 폐지조례안’이 7일 열린 제278회 제1차 정례회 행정자치위원회 1차 회의에서 원안 가결됐다. 

‘대전광역시 정책 관리 조례’는 시정 운영의 효율성을 도모하기 위한 정책 폐지 등을 관리하기 위해 2019년 제정되었다. 

정명국 의원은 “정책 폐지 심의 대상에 대한 기준이 모호해 행정적 혼란을 야기할 수 있다”며, “조례 제정 이전부터 시정 주요 업무에 대한 평가와 사업 일몰제도가 운영되고 있었고, 조례 제정 이후 현재까지 동 조례에 근거한 정책 폐지 심의·결정이 한 차례도 이루어지지 않았다”고 말했다. 

이어 “유명무실한 자치법규 존치로 인한 행정상 혼란을 예방하고 입법경제 차원의 행정 효율화 제고에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”며 폐지조례안 발의배경을 설명했다.

조례안은 19일 제278회 제1차 정례회 제3차 본회의에서 최종 의결될 예정이다.
