대전고향사랑기부금이 5월 말 기준 누적 모금액이 6859만을 넘어선 것으로 나타나면서 지난해 같은 기간 누계액인 3260만 원 대비 2배 이상 증가했다고 대전시가 밝혔다. 

지난해 전체 기부금 가운데 11월과 12월에 63.3%의 기부금이 집중된 것과 비교했을 때 상반기에 이뤄낸 성과로는 상당히 고무적이라는 평가다.

이러한 성과는 설 명절과 가정의 달 등 고향사랑기부에 대한 시기별 집중 이벤트와 SNS 언론홍보, 관광상품 연계, 찾아가는 홍보단 운영, 답례품 업체와 협업을 통한 적극적인 마케팅 활동에 따른 것으로 분석된다.

또한, 올해 상반기 500만 원 최고액 기부자도 홍보대사 가수 김의영, 중앙청과 대표 가족, 향우기업인 정기엽 대표 등 릴레이 기부행렬이 이어지면서 지난해 2명에 불과했던 실적을 이미 넘어섰다. 

한편, 대전시는 고향사랑기부제 시행 첫해인 2023년에 총 1억 2,270만 원을 모금하며 목표액(1억 원) 대비 122% 초과 달성했다. 2024년에는 전년 대비 44% 상향된 1억 4,400만 원을 목표로 대전 고향사랑기부 활동을 활발하게 추진 중이다.
