충남 논산시가 13일 오전 읍면동장을 포함한 시 간부 70여 명이 모인 가운데 ‘5월 확대간부회의’를 개최한 자리에서 공직자들의 청렴을 강조했다.

회의를 주재한 백성현 논산시장은 “민선8기 들어 뿌려 온 씨앗들이 의미 깊은 결실들로 나타나고 있다”며 “더욱 희망찬 변화상이 펼쳐질 수 있도록 혁신적 아이디어를 폭넓게 발굴해달라”고 주문했다. 

이어“지역의 미래를 좌우할 핵심전략들에 무게를 더하는 동시에 주민 한분 한분의 목소리에도 귀 기울이는 세심한 행정을 지향해줄 것”이라 덧붙였다.

백 시장은 특히“청렴의 가치는 공직자로서 갖춰야 할 기본소양이자 끊임없이 성찰하며 가꿔야 할 숙제이기도 하다”며 논산 전역에 건전한 사회풍토가 깃들 수 있도록 공직사회가 앞장서자는 메시지를 전했다. 

이날 회의 참석자들은 지방소멸대응기금 투자사업, ‘(2025~26)충남 방문의 해’준비사항,  기회발전특구 운영전략 등 역점현안의 추진사항을 살피는 한편 장마철 피해 예방을 위한 하천‧도로‧산림 공사현황, 상반기 신속집행 등 긴요한 조치사항을 점검했다.

이 밖에도 고향사랑기부제, 논산 투어패스, 시민행복 명사특강 등 지역에 넓게 알려야 할 대외홍보 의제를 공유하며 시민사회와 발맞추는 시정에 뜻을 모았다. 

참석자들은 또 신뢰감 있는 공직사회를 만들겠다는 결의를 다지며 부패ㆍ갑질 근절에 관한 지혜를 나누는 것은 물론 개회 전 청렴 퍼포먼스를 통해 ‘청렴의지’를 널리 전파했다.
