충남 예산군이 희귀질환을 앓고 있는 환자를 대상으로 의료비 지원에 나선다.

이를 위해 예산군은 희귀질환자에 대한 의료비 지원을 통해 환자와 가족들이 경제·심리적 안정을 도모할 수 있도록 희귀질환자 의료비 지원 신청을 연중 접수한다고 2일 밝혔다.

희귀질환자 의료비 지원 대상은 희귀질환으로 분류된 1272종에 해당하는 환자이며, 올해는 기존 1189종에서 83종이 추가돼 그동안 혜택을 받지 못했던 질환자도 의료비 부담을 덜 수 있게 됐다.

신청 대상은 희귀질환 산정 특례 등록자로 환자 가구와 부양 의무자 가구소득 및 재산기준이 충족되는 경우 보건소에 신청하면 된다.

신청자는 대상 질환에 따라 진료비와 보조기기 구입비, 인공호흡기 대여료 및 기침 유발기 대여료, 간병비, 특수식이 구입비 등을 지원받을 수 있으며, 특히 올해는 당원병 환자의 혈당 유지를 위해 특수식(옥수수 전분) 구입비 지원이 신설됐다.

예산군은 지난해 희귀질환 의료비 지원 사업을 통해 대상자 51명에게 총 3765건, 총 1억4300만원을 지원한 바 있다.
