충남 당진시의 대표적인 축제인 기지시줄다리기 축제의 성공적인 개최를 위해 당진시가 적극적으로 대외 홍보를 추진하고 있다고 2일 밝혔다.

이를 위해 당진시는 지난해 당진항만관광공사(사장 이범재)와 한국여행업협회(KATA, 회장 오창희)와 체결한 당진지역의 관광 활성화 및 관광객 유치를 위한 업무협약에 따라 오는 11일과 12일 팸투어와 우수상품개발설명회를 개최하고 기지시줄다리기 축제 홍보를 이어간다는 계획이다.

먼저 11일에는 한국여행업협회 회장단과 여행업 관계자 30여 명이 참여하는 팸투어로 삽교천, 기지시줄다리기 축제장, 솔뫼성지 등을 방문할 예정이다. 

특히, 12일에는 문체부와 한국여행업협회가 주최․주관하는 K-관광 우수상품개발설명회(장소:서울 롯데호텔)에 참여해 기지시줄다리기와 기지시줄다리기 축제에 대한 설명회를 진행할 계획이다. 

당진시는 이날 행사에서 지역관광　활성화, 고부가가치 상품개발이라는 주제로 전국 여행사 ,관광재단　,관광콘텐츠 업체 등 500여 명이 참석한 자리에서 기지시줄다리기의 우수성을 널리 알리고 줄다리기 관광자원화에 대한 많은 관심을 끌어낼 것으로 기대하고 있다.

한편, 올해 기지시줄다리기 민속축제는 4월 11부터 14일까지 송악읍 기지시줄다리기박물관 일원에서 개최되며, 유네스코에 공동 등재된 베트남․캄보디아․필리핀 및 주한대사, 주한미군 험프리스, 일본 다이센시 방문단 등을 초청해 다양한 국외 인사가 참여하는 글로벌 축제로 진행할 예정이다.
