대전시가 2일 오전 10시‘제79회 식목일’을 맞아 지난해 대형 산불이 발생한 서구 산직동 일원에서 나무심기 및 나누어주기 행사를 개최한다고 밝혔다. 

이날 행사는 시민들과 공공기관, 시민단체 등이 참여한 가운데 대전 산직동 일원에서 산벚나무 등 1710여 본을 심을 예정이다.

나무심기 후에는 행사 참여자에게 블루베리, 체리, 자두, 아로니아, 라일락 묘목 5000여 본과 팬지, 오스테오펄멈 꽃 2000여 본을 나누어줄 계획이다.

대전시는 올해 행사가 개최되는 서구 산직동 일원은 2023년 대전 서구 산불이 발생했던 장소로 나무심기를 통해 나무의 중요성과 함께 산불의 경각심을 알리고자 식목일 행사지로 선정하게 되었다고 전했다.
