대전교통공사가 오는 3월 5일부터 시민, 공사 직원, 시청 직원으로 구성된 체험단을 대상으로 시청역, 반석역에‘태그리스(Tagless) 시스템’을 시범 운영한다고 29일 밝혔다.

태그리스 시스템이란 개집표기에 태그를 하지 않아도 자동으로 이용운임 결제가 이루어지도록 구축하는 시스템으로 스마트폰을 손에 들거나 화면을 켜지 않아도 태그리스 기능만 켜져 있으면 자동으로 도시철도 운임결제가 가능하다. 

공사는 작년 9월 ㈜이동의즐거움과 업무협약 체결 후 시청역과 반석역의 개집표기 2대에 태그리스 시스템을 설치를 완료했다. 연말까지 유효한 승차권 인식여부, 처리속도, 데이터 정확성을 확인하고 기술 고도화를 통해 내년부터 사업자 선정 절차를 거쳐 전 역사로 확대 설치하여 일반 승객까지 이용할 수 있게 적용할 방침이다.

태그리스 시스템을 통해 혼잡시간대 승객이 몰릴 경우 개집표기에 대기줄이 발생하는 문제가 해소되고 승・하차를 위해 교통카드를 꺼내는 불편함과 태그의 부정확으로 인한 다시 태그를 해야하는 상황이 줄어들 것으로 예상된다.
