올해부터 충남도의원 의정활동비가 월 150만 원에서 200만 원으로 인상될 것으로 예상된다.

충남도의정비심의위원회는 21일 2차 회의를 열고, 올해부터 2026년까지 의정활동비를 정부가 정한 최고 상한선인 월 200만 원 이내로 인상하기로 의결했다.

교육계·법조계·언론계·시민단체 등의 추천을 받아 구성된 9명의 위원은 주민공청회 결과 및 타 지자체 사례 등을 바탕으로, 의정활동비 인상 필요성에 대해 공감한 것으로 파악됐다.

위원회는 도와 도의회에 의결사항을 통보할 예정이며, 이후 도의회는 조례 개정 절차를 밟게 된다.

개정안이 의회를 통과하면 도의원들은 증액된 의정활동비를 받게 된다. 

의정활동비는 지방의원이 의정 자료를 수집하고 연구하거나, 이를 위한 보조활동에 사용되는 비용을 보전하기 위한 명목으로 지급되며, 2003년 이후 20년 만에 인상됐다.

의정활동비와 함께 지급되는 월정수당도 올해부터 2026년까지 공무원 보수인상률에 맞춰 인상되며, 올해 공무원 보수인상률은 2.5%이다.

지난해 기준 도의원 1인당 지급된 월 의정비(의정활동비+월정수당)는 의정활동비 150만원, 월정수당 343만 6000원 총 493만 6000원이며, 연간 지급액은 5923만 2000원이다.

올해 월정수당 2.5% 인상 및 의정활동비가 최고 상한선인 200만원으로 인상되면 월 의정비 총액은 552만 1900원, 연간 지급액은 6626만 2800원이 된다.
