이장우 대전시장이 역점 사업으로 추진하고 있는 대전교도소 이전과 경부선과 호남선 철도 및 고속도로 지하화, 제2 대덕연구단지 건립 등에 청신호가 켜졌다.

이 시장은 19일 주재한 주간업무회의에서 지난 16일 대전을 방문한 윤석열 대통령과 만나 대전지역 현안을 적극 건의해 긍정적 답변을 받았다고 밝혔다.

대전교도소 이전과 관련해 이 시장은 윤 대통령에게 “문재인 정부에서 약속한 사안인데 이행하지 않았다. 도심에 있고, 수용인원 공간이 매우 비좁아 이전이 시급하다. 이전 부지도 있으니 신속히 추진될 수 있도록 예타를 면제해달라”고 건의했다.
