총선 출마 의지를 밝혔던 김소연 변호사가 국민의힘 소속으로 오는 4월 총선에서 대전 서구 을 출마를 공식화 했다.

19일 오전 대전시의회 기자실에서 출마 기자회견을 가진 김 변호사는 서구을 출마를 '숙명'이라 말하면서, 더불어민주당  박범계 의원을 향해 "김소연 영입과 윤석열을 검찰총장으로 추천해 대한민국을 살렸다"고 선방을 날렸다.

이날 기자회견에서 김 변호사는 "여러 고민끝에 대전 서구 을에 등장했고 이것은 숙명이라고 생각한다"며 "저를 이곳에 등판시킨 것은 제 자신이 아닌 박범계 의원과 싸워 '정의가 승리한다'는 것을 보여달라는 국민의 요청이고 그 운명이 오늘 이 자리로 이끌었다"고 출마 선언 배경을 설명했다.

그러면서 "그런 차원에서 박 의원은 대한민국에 큰 일을 두 가지나 했다"며 "첫째로 지역의 평범한 워킹맘 김소연을 극찬하며 영입한 것, 둘째로 사람에 충성하지 않는 검사 윤석열을 검찰총장으로 추천했다고 하는 이야기인데 사실이면 정말로 큰 일을 한 것"이라고 강조했다.

한편 김소연 변호사는 지난 2018년 더불어민주당 소속으로 대전시의원에 당선된 후 탈당해 바른미래당으로 당적을 옮겼으며 이후 시의원직을 사퇴하고 국민의힘 전신인 미래통합당에 입당해 제21대 총선에서 대전 유성을에 출마했다 낙선한 뒤 2022년 3월 국회의원 재보궐선거에서 무소속으로 서울 서초갑에 도전했다 고배를 마신 바 있다.
