더불어민주당이 당초 장철민  의원과 황인호 전 동구청장간 양자 대결을 통해 대전 동구선거구 후보 선출 방침을 변경해 정경수 예비후보를 포함한 3인 경선을 실시하는 것으로 최종 확정했다.

3인 경선이 확정되면서 공천에서 배제됐던 정경수 예비후보는 기사회생 하게됐다.

더불어민주당 중앙당선거관리위원회는 14일 최고위원회 의결 결과 재심이 청구된 대전 동구에 대해 3인 경선지역으로 지정하고 후보자 등록을 공고했다.

지난 6일 1차 심사 발표 결과 정경수 예비후보가 컷오프 되면서 현역인 장철민 의원과 황인호 전 동구청장의 양자경선이 진행될 예정이었으나 정 예비후보가 재심을 신청했으며 8일 유일하게 받아들여졌다.

이에 따라 민주당 대전 동구는 3인간의 경선이 실시되며 오는 21일부터 23일 당원 투표와 일반인이 참여하는 여론조사가 1차로 진행되고, 1차에서 과반 득표자가 없을 경우 1,2위를 대상으로 오는 26일부터 27일까지 2일간 결선투표가 진행될 예정이다.

한편 더불어민주당 후보 결정을 위한 경선은 권리당원 50%, 국민여론조사 50%의 비율로 결정될 예정이다.
