대전대덕구선거관리위원회(위원장 황재호)가 오는 4월 10일 실시하는 제22대 국회의원선거와 관련하여 선거운동을 위하여 호별방문한 혐의로 예비후보자 A씨 등 총 4명을 13일 대덕경찰서에 고발했다고 밝혔다.

선관위에 따르면 예비후보자 A씨는 2024년 1월 중순 경, ○○시의원 등 3명과 함께 기호·성명 등이 표시된 복장으로 △△구청 20여 개 사무실을 순회하며 명함을 배부하고, 새해 인사와 함께 지지를 호소한 혐의를 받고 있다.

공직선거법은 선거운동을 위하여 호별로 방문할 수 없도록 하고 이를 위반하였을 경우 3년 이하의 징역 또는 600만원 이하의 벌금에 처하도록 하고 있다. 

대법원은 관공서라 하더라도 민원인들에게 일반적·통상적으로 개방된 장소가 아닌 업무용 사무공간은 선거운동이 금지된 “호”에 해당한다고 판결하고 있다.

대덕구선관위 관계자는 “공정한 선거질서 확립을 위해 위법행위에 대해서는 무관용 원칙으로 엄정 조치할 방침”이라고 하면서 유권자의 적극적인 신고·제보를 당부했다.
