대전시가 지난 25일 경기도 의정부 시청에서 윤석열 대통령이 참석한 가운데 열린“출퇴근 30분 시대, 교통 격차 해소”토론회에 앞서 국토교통부 장관이 발표한 ‘교통 분야 3대 혁신전략’에 대전시와 관련한 다양한 과제들이 포함되어 있어 대전시 현안사업에 탄력을 받을 것으로 기대하고 있다.

한편 정부는 지난 9일 국회에서 통과된 ‘철도지하화특별법’을 바탕으로 대전 포함 전국을 대상으로 지하화 종합계획을 수립하는 등 철도 지하화 추진 기반을 마련할 것이라고 밝혔다.

철도 지하화 사업의 성공 모델을 제시하기 위해 지자체가 제안한 사업 중 특별히 계획 완결성이 높은 구간은 올해 말까지 선도 사업으로 선정하여 종합계획 수립 전부터 기본계획 수립에 착수할 계획이다.
