대전시의회가 28일 2023년도 의정활동 결산과 2024년도 의정 방향 제시를 주제로 기자간담회를 개최했다.

이날 간담회에서 이상래 의장은“2023년은 제9대 의회 의정활동을 실질적으로 평가 받는 해로 대전의 발전과 시민의 삶의 제고를 위해 22명의 의원이 각자 맞은 자리에서 전력 질주했다”는 말로 소감을 전했다.

이 의장은 먼저 2023년 의정 성과로는 시민의 뜻에 부합하는 의회 조직체계를 구성하고, 105일에 걸쳐 6회의 회기 동안 493건의 안건을 심사․의결하고 130건의 의원 발의로 의회 입법 기능을 충실히 수행했다고 평가했다. 

이어 대전광역시와 교육청 그리고 산하기관에 대한 행정사무감사에서는 사전 연찬회 개최 등 충실한 준비로 대전도시철도 2호선 선정 방식과 공사 착공 후 예상되는 교통혼잡, 예술의 전당 제작 오페라 취소 사태 등 불합리한 행정 집행 574건에 대해 대안을 제시하고 조치할 것을 요구했다고 밝혔다. 

아울러, 의회 예산결산특별위원회에서는 역대급 세수 감소를 감안해 2024년 예산안 중 16건의 21억 3천만원 규모를 삭감하는 한편, 시민의 삶을 향상하는데 꼭 필요한 지역발전사업, 소상공인, 서민지원 예산은 과감하게 투자하며 재원의 효율성을 기했다고 설명했다.
