충남도의회가 28일 중국 후베이성 인민대표대회 방문단과 충남도의회에서 교류협력 추진을 위한 의견 교류의 시간을 가졌다고 전했다. 

이날 행사에는 충남도의회 조길연 의장(부여2·국민의힘), 홍성현 부의장(천안1·국민의힘), 김명숙 기획경제위원회 위원장(청양·더불어민주당), 오인환 예산결산위원회 위원장(논산2·더불어민주당)이 참석했고, 후베이성에서는 마궈창 인민대표대회 부주임과 리우팡전 재경위원회 주임위원 등 6명이 참석했다.

후베이성 인민대표대회의 이번 방문은 충남도 및 의회와의 교류협력 관계 구축을 위한 것으로, 참석자들은 환영인사와 지역소개, 교류협력 의향 전달 등 양 의회 간 우호협력 관계 발전을 위한 방안을 논의했다. 

조길연 의장은 “충남은 백제문화의 중심지이며 많은 역사유적과 유물을 간직한 곳이다. 2024년과 2025년은 ‘충남 방문의 해’로서 충남의 관광지에 방문해주길 요청드리며, 후베이성과의 문화관광사업 교류가 활성화되길 기원한다”고 말했다. 

또한 조 의장은 후베이성의 탄소배출권 시장 개장 등 환경보호산업에 주목할면서 충남도가 추진 중인 탄소중립 경제정책과 연계하여 양 지역의 교류·협력 필요성을 강조하며 “최근 중국 광둥성과 장쑤성을 방문하여 중국 지방정부 및 의회와 교류협력을 활성화하는 계기가 되었으며 후베이성과도 이러한 관계가 지속 발전되기를 희망한다”고 밝혔다.
