본격적인 한파가 예상되고 있는 가운데 세종시가 동절기 상수도 급수공사를 중지한다.

세종시에 따르면 겨울철 기온 급강하로 인한 부실 공사를 방지하기 위해 오는 12월 20일부터 내년 2월 말까지 상수도 급수공사를 전면 중지한다고 24일 밝혔다.

동절기 급수공사 중지를 시행한다고 밝힌 세종시는 상수도 공급이 필요한 주민은 12월 1일까지 급수공사를 신청하고, 공사비를 납부해야 올해 안에 급수공사가 가능하다고 안내했다.

세종시는 또 내년 급수공사 신청은 내년 2월 21일부터 접수가 재개되며, 3월 초부터 급수공사를 시행한다고 밝혔다.

동절기 공사 중지와 관련해 세종시 관계자는 “겨울철 한파로 인한 공사 작업 여건이 어려울 뿐 아니라 안전사고 우려가 있는 만큼 겨울철 공사 중지는 불가피한 측면이 있다”며 공사중지 자체가 시민을 위한 조치이므로 시민들의 이해를 당부했다.
