국민의힘을 등에 업고 내년도 국회의원선거 대전 서구을 출마를 준비하고 있는 이택구 전 대전시 행정부시장이 출판기념회를 개최하고 총선을 향한 세불리기에 나선다.

이 전 부시장은 오는 23일 목요일 오후 6시 30분 오페라웨딩홀 4층에서 ‘가지 않은 길’ 출판 기념회를 개최한다. 

저서 ‘가지 않은 길’은 선택을 통해 나오는 결과가 관성 때문에 쉽게 변화되지 않는 현상을 일컫는 사회심리학 용어로 많이 사용되는 ‘경로의존성’ 탈피를 강조하고 있으며 학창시절과 대학 진학, 결혼, 직업들을 결정하게 된 선택과 30여년간 공직생활 동안 끝없는 선택들의 배경과 뒷 이야기들이 재미있게 담겼다. 

특히 단순히 어떤 길을 걸었다고 이야기하는 내용이 아니라 인생에서 선택의 중요성과 결코 그 기회는 다시 돌아오지 않는다는 점, 이로 인해 다른 기회를 포기했던 일에 대한 회환 등 소박하지만 가슴 따뜻한 내용들을 담고 있다. 

이택구 전 부시장은 “지난 30여년 공직생활의 소회가 ‘가지 않은 길’이라면 앞으로 30년 ‘함께 걷는 길’을 지역민들과 같이 만들고 싶다”며 “지역민들의 많은 관심과 참여 부탁드리겠다”고 말했다.
