충남도가 제2기 지역균형발전사업 대상 시군에 선정된 기초단체에 1조 2410억 원을 투입한다.

이를 위해 충남도는 오는 2026년부터 추진하는 제2단계 제2기 지역균형발전사업 대상 시군 선정을 마치고 본격적인 2기 사업 발굴에 나선다고 15일 밝혔다.

충남도가 선정한 제2기 대상 시군은 기존 제2단계 제1기 지원 대상 지역 9개 시군(공주·보령·논산·금산·부여·서천·청양·예산·태안)에 홍성군을 추가해 총 10곳이다.

지원 대상 시군에는 2026년부터 2030년까지 추진하는 제2단계 제2기 지역균형발전사업에는 5년간 1조 2410억 원을 투입, 대상 시군은 매년 약 248억 원씩을 지원받는다.

충남도는 도내 북부지역에 비해 상대적으로 발전 정도가 낮은 10개 시군의 성장 잠재력을 크게 높여 시군 간 근본적인 불균형 문제를 해소하는 데 중점을 둘 방침이다.

충남도는 제2단계 제2기 지역균형발전사업 추진 방향을 민선 8기 주요 공약 및 역점사항 등 도정 방향과 일치하도록 설정하고 지방소멸기금 및 도 역점사업 등과 연계해 청년인구 유입·정착과 주거·일자리 지원사업들이 상승효과를 낼 수 있도록 추진할 예정이다.

아울러 충남도는 충분한 사업 발굴·준비 기간 확보 및 내실 있는 사업 이행을 위해 사업 순기를 2년 앞당겨 내년 말까지 제2단계 제2기 지역균형발전사업 개발계획을 확정하고 2025년부터는 1년 먼저 재정투자심사 등 사전 행정절차를 선행해 2026년 재정 투입이 본격적으로 이뤄질 수 있도록 추진할 방침이라고 밝혔다.
