세종시의회가 13일 개최한 세종시의회 제86회 정례회 1차 본회의에서 이현정 의원이 대표 발의한 ‘전세사기 근절을 위한 ’전세사기 피해자 지원 및 주거안정에 관한 특별법‘개정 촉구 결의안’을 채택했다고 밝혔다.

이번 결의안에는 임차인의 재산손실과 주거불안을 초래하는 악의적인 전세사기 피해 근절을 위한 전세사기 특별법 개정을 촉구한다는 내용이 담겼다.

이 의원에 따르면 국토교통부 자료에 따라 최근 5년간 1000명의 임대인이 집 44000여 채를 매입했으나, 현재까지 전국 지자체에 접수된 피해 신고는 9100여 건에 불과해 추가 피해 발생이 예상된다고 우려를 나타냈다.

이 의원은 서울, 경기에 이어 전국에서 전세가구 비율이 세 번째로 높은 세종시도 예외는 아니라며, 이미 지난해부터 현재까지 총 99건의 전세 사기 사건이 발생해 그 피해액은 약 138억에 달하고 있다고 전하고, 특히 전세사기 피해자의 63%가 2·30대 청년으로, 당사자들이 체감하는 피해액은 더욱 가중되어 실효성 있는 대책 마련이 시급함을 강조했다.
