대전시교육청이 10일 오후 제104회 전국체육대회 입상학생 및 우수학교에 대한 포상금 수여식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 포상금 수여식은 고등부 선수단이 금 10, 은 19, 동 25, 총 54개의 메달과 목표점수 840점을 초과한 10894점을 획득하며 종합 13위를 달성한 공로를 치하하기 위해 진행되었다.

이날 행사에는 역도 남고부 96kg급에서 2관왕을 차지한 문익희(대전체고 3), 자전거 남고부 개인도로와 육상 여고부 높이뛰기 2연패를 차지한 조정우(동대전고 3)와 김지연(대전신일여자고 3)을 비롯한 학생 9명이 참석하였으며, 우수학교로 선정된 대전체육고(교장 이성성), 동대전고(교장 박양서), 충남기계공업고(교장 박인규), 대전신일여자고(교장 김진희), 대전동산고(교장 권희동), 대전생활과학고(교장 신익수) 교장 및 지도교사도 참석하여 설동호 대전광역시교육감으로부터 우수학교 포상금과 휘장을 수여 받았다.

포상금 수여식에서 설동호 교육감은 “그동안 코로나 펜데믹으로 훈련 여건이 좋지 않아 자칫 경기력이 약화 되지 않을까 우려스러웠는데, 모든 어려움을 이기고 훌륭한 성적을 거둔 학생들이 정말 자랑스럽다.”면서“학생 지도와 지원에 최선을 다해준 우수학교 교장선생님과 지도자 선생님께 감사드리며, 대전교육청은 앞으로도 우리 소중한 학생들이 스포츠를 통해 자신의 잠재력을 맘껏 키우고 세계를 주도할 선수가 될 수 있도록 최선을 다해 지원하겠다.”라고 말했다.
