대한민국 대표 방위산업 기업 LIG넥스원이 대전시에 631억 원을 투자한다.

대전시에 따르면 대전시는 9일 이장우 대전시장과 LIG넥스원(주) 김지찬 대표, 정태희 대전상공회의소 회장 등이 참석한 가운데 LIG넥스원(주)과 대전시청에서 631억 원 규모의 투자 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이날 대전시와 LIG넥스원은 기업의 증설 투자와 함께 원활한 투자 진행을 위한 대전시의 행·재정적 지원으로 신규고용 창출과 지역경제 발전에 공동의 노력을 할 것을 협약했다. 

LIG넥스원(주)은 대한민국 대표 종합방위산업체로서 정밀 유도무기와 감시정찰, 지휘통제·통신 등 육·해·공 전 분야에서 첨단 무기체계를 개발·양산해 왔다. 축적된 경험과 기술력을 바탕으로 사이버와 우주공간까지 영역을 확장하고 있다

이번 투자협약을 통해 LIG넥스원(주)은 유성구 죽동 대전연구소 부지 내 건물연면적 9025㎡ 규모의 위성 레이더 작업장 및 시험장을 증설한다.

협약식에 참석한 이장우 대전시장은“지난 2010년 1,352억 원 대규모 투자에 이은 두 번째 큰 결정에 깊은 감사를 드린다”라며 “지방시대의 주역인 대전시에 투자한 것이 잘한 결정이라는 확신이 들도록 필요한 행정·재정적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”라고 말했다.
