제78주년 경찰의 날을 맞은 대전광역시경찰청(청장 정용근)이 18일 오전 대전경찰청 김용원홀에서 강영욱 대전자치경찰위원장과 경찰발전협의회 등 협력단체장, 경찰 발전에 기여한 감사장 및 표창장 수상자 등 200여명이 참석한 가운데 기념식을 개최하였다고 밝혔다. 

이날 대전경찰청 지휘부와 경찰서장들은 기념식에 앞서 국립대전현충원을 찾아 현충탑과 경찰묘역에 헌화하고 참배하면서 나라를 위해 몸 바친 순국선열과 전사･순직경찰관들의 명복을 빌었다.

이어 ‘국민의 안전한 일상, 경찰의 영예로운 사명’을 기치로 열린 경찰의 날 기념식에서는 이달영 외사자문협의회 수석부회장과 경비과 제2기동대 연동길 경감이 행안부 장관상을 수상하는 영예를 안았다. 

정용근 청장은 “제78주년 경찰의 날을 맞아, 대전경찰 모두는 존경과 신뢰받는 안전파수꾼이 되어 시민의 일상을 보호하는데 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
