세종시가 제1회 세종 차 없는 거리 ‘탄소중립, 두발로·두바퀴로!’ 행사를 제11회 세종축제와 연계해 개최한다고 밝혔다.

시민의 탄소중립 실천 동참을 위해 10월 8일 도심지 중심도로에서 개최하는 이번 행사는 시민이 도심지 중심도로에 마련된 차 없는 거리를 마음껏 즐기며 미세먼지 저감과 기후위기 대응 필요성과 의미를 되새기고 시민의 자발적인 참여 분위기를 조성하기 위해 마련됐다.

이번 행사에서는 사전에 참가를 신청한 시민 1천446명이 걷거나 자전거‧인라인을 이용해 이응다리 남측광장에서 96호선, 금강 수변길, 중앙공원을 잇는 도심지 중심도로를 통해 축제장까지 이동하게 된다.

특히 이번 행사는 자동차의 전유물인 도심 도로를 온전히 개방하는 행사인 만큼 시민들이 차 없는 거리를 마음껏 즐길 수 있도록 걷기와 자전거, 인라인스케이트, 두발로 등 다양한 코스를 운영한다.

참가자들은 행사 당일 오전 9시까지 이응다리 시청 방면 광장으로 모이면 되는데, 집결지 주변 주차장이 협소한 만큼 가급적 대중교통과 개인 자전거를 이용하고 자가용 이용은 자제하는 것이 좋다.
