대전 모 초등학교 40대 교사가 9월 5일 극단적 선택을 한 후, 병원 치료 중 지난 7일 숨을 거둔 사건과 관련해 대전교사노조가 철저한 진상규명을 촉구하고 나섰다.

안타깝게도 근단적 선택을 하면서 숨을 거둔 해당 교사는 올해로 20년차인 40대 교사로 교사 A씨는 올해 B초등학교로 전입을 왔으며 현재 5학년 담임을 맡고 있었다. 

진산규명을 촉구한 대전교사노조는 다수의 동료 교사 증언에 따르면 숨진 교사 A씨는 2019년 당시 근무하던 C초등학교에서 1학년 담임을 맡았는데 그 반 일부 학부모들의 악성민원과 아동학대 고소로 힘든 시간을 보냈다고 전했다. 

아동학대는 다음 해 무혐의 판정을 받았지만 그 후로도 계속 되는 해당 학부모들의 악성 민원에 C초등학교에 근무하는 내내 시달렸고, 오랜 기간 동안 정신과 치료를 받았다고 전했다. 

유가족 역시 2019년도 당시 겪었던 일들로 인해 상당히 오랜 시간 힘들어 했으며 서이초 사건을 접하면서 그때의 트라우마가 다시 떠올라 많이 괴로워했다고 전했다.

대전교사노조 이윤경 위원장은 “서이초 사건이 마지막 비극이길 바랐는데 대전에서도 일어나다니 참담한 심정이다. 악성 민원과 무고성 아동학대 등 교권침해로 인한 상처는 시간이 흐른다고 아무는 것이 아니다. 대전시 교육청은 숨진 선생님의 사망 원인에 대해 명명백백하게 밝히고, 다시는 이런 일이 일어나지 않도록 대책을 마련해야 할 것이다.”라고 촉구했다.
