충남 아산시가 산업통상자원부의 ‘자율셔틀 인포테인먼트 기술개발 및 서비스 실증사업(이하 자율셔틀 실증사업)’과 연계한 자율셔틀 인포테인먼트 서비스를 오는 10월부터 추진한다고 밝혔다.

산업통상자원부 공모사업인 ‘자율셔틀 인포테인먼트 기술개발 및 실증사업’은 국비 274억 원이 투입, 지난 2021년 총괄 주관기관으로 선정된 한국자동차연구원이 오는 2024년 12월까지 연구개발을 수행하게 된다.

이번 사업은 기존 이동 수단 목적의 일체형 자율주행차량이 아닌, 하단부에 배터리가 장착된 차세대 자율셔틀(차량명: KAMO-M*) 및 서비스를 개발하는 것이 목적이다.

특히 4륜 독립 조향‧제동‧구동이 가능한 공용 자율주행 섀시플랫폼에 다양한 인포테인먼트(정보(Information)와 즐거움(Entertainment)의 합성어) 기능이 담긴 캐빈(AI관광안내, 라이브스튜디오, AI리빙룸)을 교체해 장착하는 방식으로, 전국에서 아산과 세종에서 최초로 운행하게 된다.

이를 위해 시는 2021년 9월 충남도, 한국자동차연구원과 자율셔틀 인포테인먼트 서비스 환경 구축 및 실증 사업(지방비 10억 원)에 대한 3자 협약을 체결했으며, 볼거리가 풍부하고 과학‧환경 분야 등의 콘텐츠와 서비스 연계가 가능한 아산시 환경과학공원을 최종 대상지로 확정했다.

환경과학공원은 기피 시설이던 생활폐기물 소각장을 장영실과학관, 배미수영장, 행정복지센터, 공원 등을 갖춘 복합문화공간으로 탈바꿈시킨 친환경에너지 혁신시설로서, ‘제15회 자원순환의 날 행사’에 자율셔틀 인포테인먼트 서비스를 체험할 수 있는 공간이 배치됐다.
