충남도가 도내 5개 시군 4개 항만사업에 대해 국가계획 반영을 추진한다.

이를 위해 충남도는 4개 항만사업에 18건 3조 5000억여 원 규모의 개발 사업을 발굴, 국가계획 반영에 도전한다고 6일 밝혔다.

충남도에 따르면, 해양수산부는 전국 31개 항만을 대상으로 항만기본계획 수정계획 수립을 추진 중이다.

항만기본계획은 항만법 상 항만 분야 최상위 법정 계획으로, 항만의 효율적인 개발·관리·운영을 위해 10년마다 세우고 있는데 기본계획에는 항만 개발이나 항만 시설 기능 개선 및 정비, 특화 개발 등을 위해선 이 계획에 포함돼야 한다.

수정계획은 국내외 해운 항만 환경 변화를 고려하고, 항만시설 수급 전망과 물동량 수요 예측, 개발 방향 등을 반영, 항만기본계획 추진 중간에 수립한다.

이번 수정계획은 2025년 수립을 목표로 지난 6월부터 용역을 진행 중이다.

이에 따라 충남도는 수정계획에 도내 항만 관련 사업 반영을 위해 시군 및 발전사로부터 수요 조사를 실시, 당진·평택항과 대산항, 보령항 등 4개항만에서 18개 사업을 찾았다.

18개 사업에 소요되는 총 예산은 일단 3조 5108억 원으로 잡았으며, 미 산정 사업의 예산까지 합하면 총 비용은 크게 늘 전망이다.
