충남 천안시가 22일 우범지역 내 범죄 사전예방을 위해 193개소를 대상으로 폐쇄회로 텔레비전(CCTV) 437대를 설치했다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업에는 16억의 예산을 투입했고, 지역 내 범죄취약지역과 어린이보호구역, 도시공원 등에 신규 폐쇄회로 텔레비전(CCTV)을 설치하고 노후된 폐쇄회로 텔레비전(CCTV)은 최신형으로 교체했다. 

앞서 천안시는 지난해 11월 서북·동남 경찰서와 신규설치 대상지 협의를 완료했으며, 12월 중 읍면동 폐쇄회로 텔레비전(CCTV) 선정위원회를 통해 최종 선정 후 행정예고 등 행정절차를 거쳐 지난 4월 착공에 들어가 설치를 완료했다.

한편 천안시는 현재 2367개소 6438대 방범용 폐쇄회로 텔레비전(CCTV)를 설치하고 ‘천안아산 도시통합운영센터’에서 관리 운영하고 있다.
