충남도의회 ‘폐교를 이용한 지역 활성화 방안 연구모임’(이하 연구모임, 대표 편삼범)이 18일 회의를 열고 국내외 선진사례·활용 구상안 등 공유의 필요성을 공감했다.

이날 연구모임은 도의회 회의실에서 제5차 연구모임 및 연구용역 중간보고회는 지난 5월부터 시작한 ‘충남형 폐교 활용모델 및 기본구상 수립’ 연구용역 내용 점검을 통해 보완사항을 공유하고 다양한 아이디어를 반영하기 위해 마련됐다. 

연구를 맡은 (사)체험학습연구개발협회는 교육여건 및 학교시설의 전망 ,국내·외 선진사례 분석 ,지역발전을 위한 활용모델 구상안 등을 발표하고 질의응답 시간을 가진 뒤 보완점을 청취했다.

또한 회원들은 지난 연구모임에서 방문한 보령과 당진지역의 폐교 활용 사례를 제시하며, 폐교를 활용한 인구소멸지역 발전 방안을 모색했다.

편삼범 의원(보령2·국민의힘)은 󰡒오늘 중간보고회에서 나온 좋은 의견들을 적극 반영하여 충남의 특성에 맞는 폐교 활용 방안을 도출하고 정책에 반영할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
